Some events leave a mark. This was one of them.

On 24 May 2026, IMASA and Palestine House returned — this time to NMJ Hall — and the community showed up, once again, for an evening that refused to let us forget.

The night carried the same soul as the first, but arrived with its own weight. Because when you gather a second time around a cause this profound, it isn’t repetition — it’s resolve.

Once again, the replica of the Kia — the car in which little Hind Rajab and her family members were killed after Israeli forces fired over 350 rounds into it — stood as the evening’s most arresting presence. No speech required. No caption needed. Just the truth, in steel and silence. A renewed thank you to Mandos Auto Spares for ensuring this tribute continues to speak. 🙏🏽

Guests were welcomed with warmth and the kind of connection that only forms when a community is bound by shared grief and shared purpose.

The stunning artwork and paintings from Gaza — each piece a story, each brushstroke a voice — once again transformed the space into something sacred. A special mention to the remarkable Nanda Soobben, whose powerful work speaks for itself — an artist who doesn’t just paint, but advocates, bearing witness to Palestine through every canvas. The formal programme was guided once again by MC Shabnam Palesa Mohamed, whose presence brought both grace and gravitas to the evening.

A beautiful Qira’ah recited by Abbas Asanda Moahothu opened the programme, anchoring the room in reflection before the night unfolded.

The welcome address, delivered by Yasiera Suliman, carried a message that rang just as urgently the second time around — that Palestinians must never be reduced to numbers. That grief must become action. That presence in a room like this is only the beginning.

Shabnam Palesa Mohamed returned to share the unfolding vision for Palestine House — a future museum, memorial, and living legacy dedicated to Palestine’s history, its people, and the memory of Hind Rajab. A space being built, piece by piece, evening by evening.

Solly Suliman, representing the Islamic Medical Association, took to the floor with both heart and conviction — speaking passionately about Palestine House, motivating the vision, and reminding the room why projects like this matter so deeply to our community and to the cause we carry together.

Then the room held its breath for something different. 🎤

The Assalaam Boys Crew delivered a poetry performance that cut straight to the soul — fierce, moving, and unflinching. Their words asked the question that no one in that room could avoid: What if it was you? It wasn’t performance for the sake of it. It was a mirror. And every person in that room had to look into it.

Then the lights dimmed. 🎞️

The Voice of Hind Rajab filled the screen — and for those watching for the first time, it broke them open. For those watching again, it broke them open differently. Because the second time, you already know what’s coming — and you watch it anyway. That, too, is a kind of witness.

When the lights returned, the room held the same sacred quiet as before. Tears. Stillness. And that unmistakable shift — from feeling, to knowing, to deciding.

Two events. One unwavering cause.
