Alhamdulillah, IMASA Ladysmith, in collaboration with Islamic EducationalCentre, Ladysmith Islamic Welfare and the Al Imdaad Foundation, successfully hosted a comprehensive community screening programme that made a meaningful impact on Sunday 2 August 2026

📊 Programme Highlights:
✅️ Commenced with a beautiful rendition of the Quran by Hafez Shuaib Khan, physiotherapist and a welcome address by Dr Mohamed Sardiwalla, ENT Surgeon
✅ 160 community members screened (90 adults & 60 children)
✅ 14 patients identified with uncontrolled hypertension
✅ 1 patient detected with a critically high blood sugar level of 25 mmol/L and referred for urgent care
✅ An insect was safely removed from a patient’s ear
✅ Patients requiring spectacles were provided with same where feasible
✅ Elderly patients requiring dentures will be assisted through our dental team. Extractions were performed where required.
✅ Every attendee received a snack pack with juice on arrival and a food hamper with a cool drink on departure
✅ Children enjoyed a fun-filled day on the jumping castle, slide and astro football field
✅ Blankets, walking aids and a wheelchair were provided to those in need through the Al Imdaad Foundation
✅ Learners from Islamic Educational Centre played a significant role in ensuring the smooth running of the programme
✅ A truly multidisciplinary service was offered, bringing together healthcare professionals from various disciplines to provide holistic care.
