IMA CME Recap | Skin Cancer

Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery 🩺

Alhamdulillah, what an incredible afternoon of learning! 🌿

On Saturday, 25 April 2026, the Islamic Medical Association of South Africa — Durban Branch hosted a CPD-accredited CME session focused on Skin Cancer and Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, and it was nothing short of enlightening. 💛

A heartfelt thank you to every member and attendee who joined, your presence and engagement made the session truly special. 🙏🏽

We were incredibly privileged to have the brilliant Dr Safeeya Osman, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, take us through a comprehensive and eye-opening discussion on skin cancer. Dr Osman shared her expertise with such clarity and passion, making a complex topic both accessible and deeply informative. 👏🏽

From understanding the types and warning signs of skin cancer to the role of plastic and reconstructive surgery in treatment and recovery — this session was a wealth of knowledge from start to finish.

Skin cancer is one of the most common cancers we encounter, and awareness truly saves lives. Events like these remind us why continued medical education is so important — for our members, our patients, and our communities. 💚

We walked away inspired, informed, and reminded of the incredible responsibility we carry as healthcare professionals.

Until the next one — stay curious, stay informed! 🌟
