IMASA Western Cape Worcester Screening
Bringing Healthcare to Underprivileged Communities
On Sunday, October 20, the IMASA Screening team, led by Dr. Shehnaz Moosa, Western Cape Screenings Coordinator, conducted a Multidisciplinary Screening Program in Worcester, a town 115km from Cape Town.
Community Outreach
This initiative, part of IMASA’s national outreach programs, provided free medical and allied health screenings to approximately 120 patients. The team consisted of 50 volunteer workers, including medical and allied health professionals, nurses, Tibb practitioners, and medical health sciences students.

– Eye examinations
– Foot care sessions
– Dental extractions
– Cupping (Hijamah)
– Physiotherapy
– General Practitioners Consultations
– ENT
Strategic Partnership
IMASA’s collaboration with Al-Imdaad Foundation (SA), a leading relief and philanthropy organization, enhanced the outreach. Al-Imdaad officers distributed hygiene kits, walking sticks, and gift bags to community members.
The screening resulted in referrals for further treatment, highlighting the importance of accessible healthcare. IMASA’s community outreach initiatives continue to bridge the healthcare gap in underprivileged areas.
